What it is
The NPC72-01 is a British General (BG) Nexus Metal 45A double pole switch with a flush LED power indicator, built on a large plate in a polished chrome finish. It provides a dedicated isolation switch for fixed, high-load appliances, and is the larger-plate sibling of the NPC74.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Switch feels loose or doesn't click firmly between positions
- Indicator light no longer illuminates when powered
- Chrome plate is cracked, pitted or corroded
- Switch feels warm, or shows scorch marks around the terminals
Before you order
- Confirm you need a large-plate (NPC72) rather than single-plate (NPC74) switch
- Isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before removing the old switch
