What it is
The BG NBS20G-01 is a dual-voltage shaver socket from BG's Nexus Metal range, finished in brushed steel with a grey insert. It supplies both 115V and 240V outputs from a single UK shaver-type socket, for low-power appliances such as electric shavers and toothbrushes, and is certified to BS EN 61558-1 and BS EN 61558-2-5.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No power at either voltage output after checking the circuit
- Shaver/toothbrush plug does not sit securely in the socket
- Visible scorch marks, discolouration or cracking on the faceplate
- Persistent tripping of the circuit when the socket is used
- Internal transformer hum or unusual heat from the unit
Before you order
- Confirm your wall box depth is at least 47mm
- Match the grey insert finish to your existing accessories
- Isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before removing the old accessory
- Shaver sockets in bathrooms must be sited and wired to current UK wiring regulations — use a competent person
