What it is
The BG NBS12-01 is a 20A 16AX single-gang 2-way switch from BG's Nexus Metal range, finished in brushed steel. It allows a single light fitting to be switched on and off from two separate locations, such as the top and bottom of a staircase.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Light does not switch on/off correctly from one or both positions
- Rocker switch feels loose, sticks, or fails to click
- No continuity through the switch when tested with power isolated
- Visible scorch marks or discolouration on the faceplate
- Cracked or chipped faceplate
Before you order
- Confirm your wall box depth is at least 16mm
- Confirm you need a 2-way switch (two switching points); for three or more, an intermediate switch (e.g. NBS13-01) is also needed
- Isolate the lighting circuit at the consumer unit before removing the old accessory
- Wiring accessory replacement should be carried out by a competent person in line with UK wiring regulations
