What it is
The 7224764 valve is a 3-way diverter valve without a built-in bypass, directing hot water between the central heating and domestic hot water circuits in Baxi, Main and Potterton boilers. It supersedes the earlier part number 5132456. This is a refurbished and tested unit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water works but radiators stay cold, or vice versa
- Valve motor hums or fails to move fully to either position
- Water hammer or banging noise when the valve switches
- Leaking from the valve body or actuator head
Before you order
- Check your existing valve is stamped 7224764 or the earlier 5132456
- Confirm whether your system needs a bypass built into the valve
- Isolate power and drain down before removal, and have it fitted by a Gas Safe registered engineer
