What it is

A two-way motorized valve with 28mm connections, supplied under the Special Offers Tesla range and identified by part number MZV282. It is a motorised zone valve used in domestic heating systems to open and close flow to a circuit on demand from the programmer, room thermostat or cylinder thermostat. The actuator drives the valve internally to divert or shut off water flow according to the control signal it receives.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The actuator motor runs but no water flows through the valve, or flow continues when it should be shut.
  • The valve body or spindle leaks, or there is visible water staining around the actuator housing.
  • The actuator buzzes, hums continuously or becomes hot without moving the valve.
  • Heating or hot water does not respond to the thermostat or programmer, with the zone staying cold or permanently hot.
  • The manual lever moves without resistance or fails to return, indicating a seized or broken internal mechanism.

Before you order

  • Confirm the valve is two-way and not a three-way mid-position or diverter type.
  • Check the pipework is 28mm at the valve position, as connection size cannot be adapted by the valve itself.
  • Match the part number MZV282 against the existing valve or the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance.
  • Check the actuator head fixing and orientation on the existing valve before removal.
