What it is
The 308S116 is a Myson/Thorn spark (ignition) electrode, cross-referenced to the Kigass D7296, fitted at the burner to spark and light the gas. It is used on certain Baxi and Myson gas fires and back boilers from serial number 8105002021 onward.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No spark, or a weak/intermittent spark, at ignition
- Burner fails to light or takes several attempts
- Electrode tip is visibly worn, pitted or cracked
- Carbon tracking or scorch marks on the electrode ceramic
