What it is
A 10 litre expansion vessel manufactured by Grant for use in Grant oil-fired boilers. It absorbs the volume increase of water as the system heats up, limiting pressure rise within the sealed heating circuit. This vessel is specified for Euroflame 50/70 and 70/90 appliances and for external models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- System pressure climbs sharply as the boiler heats up
- Pressure relief valve discharges during normal running
- Pressure gauge reads high with the system cold and rises further when hot
- Frequent topping up of system pressure is required
- Water is found at the pressure relief valve discharge pipe
