What it is
The Grant MPCBS26 is a 22mm non-return check valve used on Grant oil-fired combi boilers. It sits in the heating circuit and permits flow in one direction only, closing off backflow when the pump stops. It is fitted across the Grant Combi and Vortex Pro combi ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water passes back through the circuit once the pump stops
- Unwanted gravity circulation, with heat reaching radiators or the hot water store when it should not
- Boiler short cycling or overheating caused by incorrect flow direction
- Knocking or banging in the pipework as flow reverses
- Weeping or visible leakage from the valve body

- Confirm the pipework at the valve position is 22mm
- Check your boiler model against the fit list above
- Note the flow direction arrow on the existing valve before removal
- Inspect the circuit for scale or debris that may have caused the valve to fail
