What it is

The Honeywell (Resideo) L4064B2236/U is a combination fan and limit control for forced warm air heating systems. A helical bimetal sensing element, inserted 8 inches into the furnace plenum, switches the blower fan on and off by plenum temperature and provides high-limit protection to shut the burner down if the plenum overheats.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Fan fails to start, or runs continuously and will not switch off
  • Furnace overheats or repeatedly trips on high limit
  • No response to changes in plenum temperature
  • Burner shuts down on a limit fault with no obvious airflow blockage
