What it is
The Teddington KBB/C/90 is a fast-acting, thermally operated fire safety valve for oil-fired heating appliances. It uses a sealed bellows, capillary tube and sensor phial to trip a spring-loaded shut-off if the temperature at the sensor exceeds 90C, cutting the oil supply to the appliance. This 9.0m version has a 9-metre capillary run between the valve body and sensor phial.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Valve has tripped and will not reset
- Reset button is stiff, seized or does not hold
- Visible damage, kinking or corrosion on the capillary tube
- Fuel supply cuts out intermittently with no overheat cause found
Before you order
- Match the capillary length and connection thread to your existing valve before ordering
- Isolate the appliance and shut off the oil supply before removing the old valve
- Fit the sensor phial firmly inside the appliance above the burner, per the installation instructions
- Test operation with a proper test unit after fitting; do not bypass the valve
