Teddington KBB/C/65 1.5m fire valve

The Teddington KBB/C/65 is a thermally operated fire valve fitted in the oil supply pipework of an oil-fired boiler or burner. It uses a quick-acting, spring-loaded trip mechanism to shut off the oil supply automatically if temperature at the remote sensing point reaches 65°C, cutting fuel to the appliance in the event of overheating or fire. This is the 1.5m capillary version — the shortest in the range — with the sensing point connected to the valve body by a 1.5m run of capillary tube.

• The valve won't reset after tripping, even once the appliance has cooled
• The capillary or sensing point is kinked, crushed or leaking
• Oil is weeping from the valve body or connections
• The valve is significantly older than the rest of the oil supply system or shows corrosion
• The appliance gets no oil supply even with the valve manually reset and the system otherwise fault-free

• Match the capillary length shown on your existing valve — it sets how far the remote sensing point can be positioned
• Confirm your fuel (kerosene, diesel or a compatible biofuel blend) is within the valve's rated compatibility
• Have the valve fitted or replaced by a competent, OFTEC-registered oil heating engineer
• Check the 1/4" BSP connections match your existing pipework before ordering
