What it is
The Morco ICB124001 is a flow restrictor for Morco GB24 water heaters. It sits in the water circuit and limits the rate at which water passes through the appliance, holding flow within the range the burner and heat exchanger are designed to work with. It is a serviceable component, replaced when flow control is lost or the restrictor becomes blocked.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water temperature swings between hot and cold as flow through the appliance varies.
- Flow at the hot tap drops noticeably, or is weaker than it was when the appliance was installed.
- Flow at the tap runs higher than the appliance's rated range, so the burner cannot hold temperature.
- Scale, grit or debris is visible in or around the restrictor body.
- Water weeps from the restrictor or its connection points.
