What it is
The Reflex 200 litre Heating Expansion Vessel is a diaphragm expansion vessel manufactured by Altecnic. It is used in sealed heating systems to absorb the volume increase of system water as it heats, limiting pressure rise within the circuit. The vessel forms part of the Altecnic expansion vessel range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- System pressure climbs quickly as the heating circuit warms, then falls again once it cools
- Water discharging from the pressure relief valve during normal operation
- Frequent topping up of system pressure needed to keep the gauge in range
- The vessel feels heavy with water or no longer holds its air charge when checked at the air valve
- Erratic pressure gauge readings between cold and hot states
Before you order
- Confirm the required vessel capacity against the system volume and design pressure rise
- Check the system connection size and pipework arrangement match the vessel connection
- Verify the available space and mounting position will accept a vessel of this size
- Confirm whether the installation is a sealed heating circuit rather than a domestic hot water or potable application
