What it is
The Riello RDB Photocell Short is a flame detection sensor for Riello RDB series oil burners. It reads the light produced by the flame and passes that signal to the burner control box, which uses it to prove ignition and shut the burner down safely if the flame is lost. This is the short variant of the photocell.
Before you order
- Confirm the burner is a Riello RDB, as other Riello burner series take different photocells.
- Check the burner mounting arrangement to confirm the short photocell is the correct body length for the application.
- Inspect the existing photocell before ordering, as a sooted or darkened lens can give the same fault symptoms as a failed cell.
- Check the control box and photocell connection on the burner before fitting.
