What it is
The Popular Oil Longlife GRE is a flexible oil hose of 440mm length, supplied by Popular Oil Spares as part of their oil spare parts range for boiler installations. One end is a 1/4in male bent fitting and the other is a 3/8in female straight fitting, allowing the hose to be routed around a bend while still terminating in a straight female connection. It is used to carry oil between a fixed supply point and the appliance in a domestic oil-fired heating system.
Before you order
- Confirm both connection sizes match the ports on the appliance and the oil supply pipework: 1/4in male and 3/8in female.
- Measure the route the hose has to take and check that 440mm is sufficient, allowing for the bend at the male end.
- Check the condition of the mating threads and seals on the appliance and supply point before fitting, as damaged threads will not seal on a new hose.
- Verify that a Longlife GRE hose is the correct specification for the oil type and appliance in use.
