What it is
The 4.5 Bar 15mm x 1/2'' T&P Relief Valve (TPR15) is a temperature and pressure relief valve used on Popular Cylinder cold water inlet controls. It discharges water when the cylinder pressure or temperature exceeds its set limits, protecting the cylinder from over-pressure and over-temperature conditions. The valve is rated at 4.5 bar and has 15mm x 1/2'' connections.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water discharging from the relief pipe or tundish when the cylinder is not over-heating or over-pressurising
- Continuous dripping from the valve outlet with the system at normal operating pressure
- The valve fails to reseat after it has operated
- Scale, corrosion or weeping around the valve body or outlet connection
