What it is
The Altecnic Prescal is an adjustable pressure reducing valve used on cold water inlet controls for cylinder installations. It regulates incoming mains pressure to a set outlet value between 1 and 6 bar, protecting downstream pipework, fittings and cylinder components. This version has 28mm connections and a gauge port.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Outlet pressure at taps higher or lower than the set value
- Pressure gauge reading drifting, or the valve failing to hold a setting
- Reduced or unstable flow at outlets fed from the cylinder
- Noise, chatter or water hammer in the pipework on draw-off
- Weeping or visible leaks from the valve body or gauge port
