What it is
The 8 Bar 22mm 3/4 Plain Shank X 15mm PRV is a pressure relief valve from Popular Cylinder Spares, part of the Cold Water Inlet Controls range. It is fitted to cylinder-based hot water systems to relieve excess pressure at 8 bar. The valve uses 22mm, 15mm and 3/4 plain shank connections.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water discharging or dripping from the relief outlet when the system is at normal pressure.
- The valve fails to reseat after a manual test, leaving the discharge pipe running.
- System pressure repeatedly rises above the 8 bar rating.
