What it is
A 3 bar pressure relief valve (PRV) with a push-fit 15mm connection, supplied for Popular Cylinder cold water inlet controls. It relieves excess pressure from the cylinder's cold water inlet arrangement, discharging through the tundish and discharge pipework when the set pressure is reached. It forms part of the cold water inlet control group on the cylinder.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water passing continuously through the tundish when the system is at normal pressure
- Dripping or weeping from the valve outlet with no heat-up or pressure event
- The valve failing to reseat after a pressure discharge
