What it is
The Heatstore GTLH3161 is a capillary thermostat used on Heatstore HSU unvented cylinders. It senses stored water temperature through a capillary probe and switches the cylinder's heat source to hold the set point. It is a cylinder control component, not a heating element or immersion heater.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Stored water runs hotter or cooler than the temperature set on the cylinder control
- The cylinder continues to heat after the set point is reached
- Hot water temperature fluctuates between draw-offs with no change to the setting
- Turning the control dial produces no change in cylinder temperature
- The thermostat fails to switch the heat source off, allowing the cylinder to overheat
