What it is
A temperature and pressure relief valve rated at 7 bar, manufactured for unvented hot water cylinder applications. It is fitted as part of the cylinder's cold water inlet control group and opens to discharge water if the cylinder pressure or temperature exceeds safe limits. The valve has a 15mm connection and a 1/2" connection.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water discharging continuously through the tundish with no demand on the cylinder
- The valve weeps or drips when the cylinder is at normal operating pressure
- The valve fails to reseat after it has lifted, leaving a permanent discharge
- Scale, corrosion or debris visible around the valve seat or outlet
- Discharge occurring at lower pressures than the cylinder's rated setting
