What it is
The Copper Thermostat Pocket is a cylinder spare from Popular Cylinder Spares, supplied for use across a wide range of unvented and vented hot water cylinders. It forms the immersion point for a cylinder thermostat probe, holding the sensor in contact with the stored water so the control can read cylinder temperature accurately. It sits within the cold water inlet controls group of Popular Cylinder spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Cylinder thermostat reads low, high or fluctuates despite the water temperature being correct
- The pocket has corroded, scaled or pitted, preventing the probe from seating properly
- The probe is loose in the pocket and no longer held against the cylinder wall

- The pocket thread or body has been damaged during removal or servicing
