What it is
The TPR22 is a 10 bar temperature and pressure relief valve from Popular Cylinder Spares, used on Heatrae Sadia Megaflo Eco Plus unvented cylinders. It opens to discharge water if cylinder temperature or pressure rises beyond safe limits, protecting the cylinder and the surrounding installation. The valve sits within the cold water inlet control group.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water discharging from the tundish with no clear cause
- The valve weeping or dripping when the cylinder is at normal temperature and pressure
- The valve fails to reseat and continues to pass water after a discharge event
- Scale, corrosion or staining around the valve body or outlet
- Repeated discharge during the heating cycle
