What it is
The TPR15 is a 7 bar temperature and pressure relief valve (T&P valve) from the Popular Cylinder spares range. It is fitted to unvented cylinders as a safety device, opening to discharge water if the stored water pressure or temperature exceeds the valve's set limits. The valve has 15mm x 1/2in connections.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water continually weeping or discharging from the valve outlet or tundish when the cylinder is at normal operating pressure
- The valve fails to reseat and seal after it has opened
- Discharge occurs at temperatures or pressures below the valve's rated limits
- Scale or debris visible at the valve seat or outlet, preventing it from closing properly
- The valve has been in service for an extended period and no longer operates freely when tested
