What it is
The Horstmann Channelplus H17XL Series 2 is a single-channel timeswitch that allows up to three on/off settings per day, with a separate programme for each day of the week. It has a backlit, menu-driven display and is designed to give time control over either central heating or hot water; its 3A contacts also suit security lighting circuits.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Display blank, dim or unresponsive
- Buttons unresponsive or programme cannot be changed
- Programme or clock resets after a power cut (battery backup failing)
- Heating or hot water switching on or off at the wrong times
Before you order
- Confirm the 9-pin wall-mounting plate matches your existing unit
- Note this model is obsolete; the manufacturer's direct replacement is the H3747
- Isolate the electrical supply before removing or fitting
- This is a mains-wired control, so fitting should be carried out by a competent person
