What it is
The Gledhill GT195 is an expansion relief valve fitted to Gledhill Electramate 2000 and Gulfstream water heating appliances. It opens to discharge excess pressure from the cylinder, protecting the appliance and associated pipework from over-pressurisation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water discharging from the relief outlet during normal heating cycles
- Continuous dripping or weeping from the valve outlet when the system is at rest
- System pressure rising and failing to settle during operation
- The valve fails to reseat after it has opened
- Scale or debris visible around the valve outlet
