What it is

The Glow-worm 801645 is the combustion fan used on CXI, HXI and SXI boiler models. It draws air into the burner and pushes flue products out through the heat exchanger and flue path, so the boiler can fire and modulate correctly. This unit is supplied professionally refurbished and fully bench-tested before dispatch.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler locks out or shows a fan or airflow fault code on the display
  • Fan runs noisily, with rumbling, scraping or whining from the bearings
  • Boiler fails to fire, or fires and then drops out shortly after ignition
  • Intermittent ignition faults that clear and return without any other change
  • Overheat or flue-related lockouts traced back to reduced airflow

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and GC number from the data badge, as CXI, HXI and SXI variants use different fan assemblies
  • Check the existing fan part number against 801645 before removing it
  • Inspect the fan gasket and sealing washers on removal and replace them if they are compressed or perished
  • Allow for the boiler casing and combustion circuit being opened during replacement
