What it is
The Grant T&P Valve 1/2 Bsp 7bar is a temperature and pressure relief valve manufactured by Grant for use on its unvented cylinders and thermal stores. It is fitted to the cylinder to relieve excess pressure and temperature from the stored water. The valve has a 1/2 inch BSP connection and a 7 bar rating.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the valve outlet or discharge pipe with the system at normal operating pressure
- The valve discharging during a normal heating cycle without any overheat or overpressure condition
- The valve failing to reseat and continuing to pass water after the test lever has been operated
- Scale, corrosion or debris visible around the valve seat or body
- Reduced or no discharge when the test lever is lifted, indicating the valve is stuck closed
