What it is
The Andrews G068 is a temperature and pressure relief valve used across Andrews water heaters and the Neoflo SC25 range. It opens to discharge water if the stored water overheats or the system pressure rises beyond the valve setting, protecting the appliance and associated pipework. It is a serviceable safety component and should be replaced if it leaks, seizes or fails to operate on test.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water dripping or running from the valve outlet when the appliance is not overheating
- The valve fails to discharge when the test lever is lifted, or the lever is stiff or seized
- Scale, corrosion or mineral deposits around the valve body or outlet
- Discharge occurring repeatedly during normal heating cycles
- Water tracking down the discharge pipe with no obvious cause
