Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fails to light, with no spark at the electrode
- Ignition is intermittent, giving repeated lockouts or failed starts
- The electrode tip is eroded, burnt away or bridged with carbon deposits
- The ceramic insulator is cracked, chipped or tracking to earth
