What it is
The Gledhill FT207 is a ball valve manufactured to BS1212 Part 2, used to control the incoming cold water supply on Gledhill thermal store and electric boiler appliances. The valve opens and closes with the water level in the appliance tank to maintain the fill level and prevent overfilling.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water continues to run into the tank after the level has been reached
- Constant or intermittent overflow from the appliance warning pipe
- Dripping or weeping from the valve body or outlet
- Water hammer or vibration on the cold feed as the valve shuts off
- The float arm sticks or fails to seat because of scale or debris

- Confirm the appliance model and variant, as several Pulsacoil, Boilermate and Electramate versions share the same range
- Check that the existing valve is a BS1212 Part 2 pattern valve
- Inspect the float and arm, and replace them if they are damaged or scaled
- Isolate the cold water supply before removing the old valve
