What it is
The FLAME SENSOR QRB1 (YELLOW) is a photocell flame sensor supplied by Firebird for use on Firebird oil-fired appliances. It monitors the presence of a flame at the burner and provides the corresponding signal to the burner control box. The sensor is listed with a 100 mm lead length.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fires, then locks out shortly afterwards because no flame signal is detected
- Repeated lockouts on start-up that clear only after a reset
- Boiler runs intermittently, with the flame proving signal dropping in and out
- Burner control box indicates a flame failure fault despite a visible flame
- Sooted or clouded photocell window causing a weak or unstable flame signal
Before you order
- Confirm the burner model matches one of the FB 4 R LN low NOx light oil burners listed above
- Check the burner control box is compatible with a QRB1 photocell sensor
- Check the existing sensor's lead length and plug connection against the 100 mm length listed
- Confirm the colour variant required for the appliance before ordering
