What it is
The FLAME SENSOR E.B.R. FTEB (GREEN) is a flame detection sensor supplied by Firebird for use on Firebird oil boilers. It monitors the presence of a flame at the burner and signals the control to prove ignition has been established. The green identification denotes the FTEB variant within the E.B.R. sensor range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fires but the boiler locks out because no flame signal is proven
- Repeated lockouts shortly after ignition, cleared by a reset
- Intermittent running where the boiler drops out during a firing cycle
- No flame signal registered on the control during a burner test
- Soot or heat damage visible on the sensor probe or its lead
Before you order
- Confirm the burner model is one of the FB 4 R LN Low NOx units listed above
- Check the existing sensor marking and colour code, as E.B.R. sensors are supplied in more than one variant
- Inspect the sensor lead and plug for continuity and damage before condemning the sensor alone
- Verify the boiler has been serviced and the photocell or sensor face is clean before ordering
