What it is
The nozzle holder is a Firebird component that carries and locates the burner nozzle on the FB 4 R series Low Nox light oil burners. It sits in the oil line path at the front of the burner, holding the nozzle in its correct position so fuel is delivered in the right spray pattern into the combustion head. It is a serviceable part, listed under Firebird oil boilers and oil burners.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Combustion readings that cannot be set correctly despite a clean nozzle and adjusted air settings
- An unstable or pulsating flame at the burner head
- Oil weeping or dampness around the nozzle holder seating
- Repeated burner lockouts after the nozzle and filters have been checked
- Visible damage, scoring or distortion on the holder where the nozzle seats
Before you order
- Confirm the burner model on the appliance data plate matches one of the fitments listed above
- Check the nozzle holder for damage or distortion before ordering a replacement
- Have the burner isolated from the oil supply and power before removal of the existing holder
- Verify the nozzle fitted to the burner is the correct type for the appliance, as the holder must seat it correctly
