What it is
The EOGB Filter Element 4009 Tankmaster FA5979 is a filter element supplied under the EOGB brand for use within the EOGB Crosland accessories range. It sits inside the filter housing on the oil supply line, where it traps debris and contamination before the fuel reaches the burner. Keeping the element in service protects the pump, nozzle and combustion performance of the appliance.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner locks out or repeatedly trips, with fuel starvation suspected at the filter
- Fuel flow to the burner is noticeably reduced or the flame is unstable
- The element is visibly discoloured, clogged or coated with sludge and debris
- Water, sediment or waxing is present in the filter bowl around the element
- The element has been in service for a full maintenance interval and is due for renewal
Before you order
- Confirm the existing element is marked 4009 Tankmaster FA5979, or that the filter housing is part of the EOGB Crosland accessories range
- Check the condition of the filter bowl, seals and housing while access is available
- Isolate the oil supply and follow safe working practice before opening the filter housing
- Confirm the appliance is due for a service so the element is replaced as part of scheduled maintenance
