What it is
The SpiroExpand EVN 8L Vessel is an 8-litre expansion vessel in the Spirotech SpiroExpand EVN range. It is fitted to sealed heating systems to absorb the expansion of heated water as the system reaches temperature. This keeps system pressure within a stable working band rather than allowing it to climb as the water volume grows.
Signs this part needs replacing
- System pressure rises sharply when the heating is on, or sits high even when cold
- Pressure falls quickly and the system needs frequent top-ups
- Water or staining appears at the Schrader valve when the air charge is checked
- The vessel feels heavy or sounds full of water when tapped
