What it is

The Altecnic ER-PRV1522 is an adjustable pressure reducing valve from the Eres range, supplied complete with a pressure gauge. It is installed on 15mm or 22mm pipework and regulates the outlet pressure to a set value between 1 bar and 6 bar, shielding downstream components from high mains or system pressure. It is a pipework control rather than a boiler-specific spare, so it is selected by connection size and pressure duty.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Outlet pressure drifts away from the set value, or cannot be held steady under draw-off.
  • The gauge reads above the intended setting and downstream pressure continues to climb.
  • Water weeps from the valve body, the adjusting cap or the gauge connection.
  • Downstream relief valves or expansion components discharge repeatedly because the reduced pressure is too high.
  • The valve becomes noisy or chatters when water is drawn through it.

Before you order

  • Confirm whether the installation uses 15mm or 22mm pipework, as the valve body accepts either size.
  • Check the required outlet pressure against the 1-6 bar adjustment range and the 16 bar maximum inlet pressure.
  • Note the factory pre-setting of 3 bar, which will need adjusting on site to suit the system.
  • Check the gauge connection thread (1/4" BSP) if the existing gauge is being reused or replaced.
