What it is
The Andrews 2 inch lanced baffle (part E879) is a flue-way component for Andrews Ecoflo EC230 and LEC230 series water heaters. It is positioned in the heat exchanger flue passages to slow combustion gases and improve heat transfer to the water. The lanced design helps increase turbulence and surface area within the flue.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible corrosion, warping or cracking
- Excessive soot or debris build-up in the flue
- Reduced hot water output or slower recovery
- Rattling or vibration from the flue area
