What it is

The EOGB KBB fire valve is a safety shut-off device fitted to the fuel supply of an oil-fired appliance. It closes the fuel line when the sensing element reaches its 90°C trip temperature, isolating the burner in an overheat or fire condition. This version uses a 6m capillary and is the bio-compatible variant, as indicated by the KBB (Bio) designation in the product name.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The valve has tripped and will not reset or hold in the open position
  • Fuel continues to pass through the valve when it should be shut off
  • Visible damage, kinking or corrosion on the capillary or sensing phial
  • Fuel weeping from the valve body or capillary union
  • The valve trips at a lower temperature than expected, cutting the burner out during normal running

Before you order

  • Confirm the required trip temperature matches the 90°C rating of this valve
  • Check the capillary length is sufficient for the run between the sensing point and the valve position
  • Verify the valve model designation matches the one fitted, including whether the bio variant is required for the fuel in use
  • Check the existing capillary union and connection arrangement before removal
