What it is
The KBB fire valve is a safety shut-off device manufactured by EOGB for use with its Teddington appliances. It carries a 90°C temperature rating and is supplied with a 20 m capillary. Its function is to shut off the fuel supply to the appliance when the sensor detects an overheat or fire condition.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Fuel oil weeping or dripping from the valve body or its unions.
- Capillary tube crushed, kinked or corroded along its run.
- The valve fails to shut off when the sensor is triggered during a manual test.
- The sensor element or fusible link is distorted, discoloured or damaged.
- The valve has tripped and will not reset.
