What it is

The Heatline overheat safety thermostat is a 130C limit device with a manual reset, used to shut down the appliance if the water temperature exceeds safe operating limits. It is fitted to a range of Heatline gas boilers, including the Capriz, Compact, C-series, Hydroline and VIZO families. The thermostat is mounted in the top/right position on the relevant appliances.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler locks out and will not restart, with the overheat trip repeatedly operating.
  • The reset button will not latch or hold, so the appliance trips again immediately after resetting.
  • No heating or hot water because the safety circuit stays open.
  • The thermostat shows signs of heat damage, scorching or a loose or corroded connection.
  • Continuity testing shows the device open when it should be closed, or closed when it should be open.
