What it is
The Ecocal 8mm Angled Thermostatic Radiator Valve is a thermostatic radiator valve manufactured by Altecnic. It forms part of the Altecnic Ecocal rad valves range and provides thermostatic control of the heat output from a radiator. The angled body pattern allows the pipework to approach the valve from below and turn through 90 degrees into the radiator tapping.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The valve head no longer responds to adjustment, so the radiator stays hot or cold regardless of the setting
- The valve body or compression joint weeps water around the spindle or connection
- The radiator cannot be shut down fully when the head is turned to its lowest setting
- The thermostatic head is seized, cracked or detached from the valve body
