What it is
The C780 is a pressure reducing valve with an integral strainer, manufactured by Andrews for its water heater range. It regulates incoming supply pressure to a stable outlet pressure and traps debris before it reaches the appliance. The valve has a 3/4 inch connection.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Outlet pressure creeping above or falling below the set value
- Reduced flow or a pressure drop across the valve caused by a blocked strainer
- Water weeping from the valve body, bonnet or adjuster
- Banging or water hammer in the pipework downstream of the valve
- Pressure gauge readings fluctuating without any change in demand
