What it is
The Honeywell V8800C is a gas control valve used on Johnson & Starley J25-32 warm air units and their Janus, Superjan, Eljan and Hijan water heater variants. It regulates the flow of gas to the burner and shuts off the supply when the appliance is not firing. Johnson & Starley lists the part under number BOS00829/SP, and fitting may require modification to the existing pipework.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The appliance fails to ignite, or there is no gas flow at the burner.
- Ignition is intermittent, or the appliance locks out shortly after firing.
