What it is

The Johnson & Starley BOS00311/BCR18 is a pilot burner assembly supplied complete with an injector, built by Honeywell for Johnson & Starley appliances. It provides the standing pilot flame that lights the main burner on J15-22 and J25-32 warm air units and their associated water heaters. As a gas-carrying component, it should only be fitted by a competent Gas Safe registered engineer.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The pilot will not light, or lights only intermittently
  • The pilot flame is weak, yellow, or lifts away from the burner
  • The pilot goes out when the control knob is released
  • Soot or discolouration around the pilot burner or injector
  • Repeated lockouts or ignition faults on the main burner

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model and mark (J15-22, J25-32, Mk2, Mk3, MAF VI) against the manufacturer's parts list.
  • Check whether the unit is paired with a Janus, Eljan, Hijan or Superjan water heater, as fitment varies by variant.
  • Compare the existing pilot burner and injector with the part shown to confirm the Honeywell type.
  • Gas-carrying components must be fitted and commissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
