What it is
The Biasi BI2175101 is a pump capacitor used on Biasi gas boilers, including the Riva Plus range. It provides the starting torque the circulating pump motor needs to run, so a failed capacitor stops the pump from starting or running reliably. It is a service part for the boiler's central heating circulation pump.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The circulating pump hums but does not start or turn over
- The pump runs intermittently or fails to start from cold
- The boiler locks out or reports a circulation-related fault
- The pump overheats or the motor trips during operation
- Pump performance drops after the capacitor has aged
