- Pump runs intermittently or not at all despite a confirmed live supply at the board
- Diverter valve fails to move between heating and hot water positions
- Gas valve does not open or modulate when the boiler is calling for heat
- Visible damage to the cable, such as chafed insulation, scorching or exposed conductors
