What it is

The Biasi BI1536103 is an air pressure switch used on M96A-series Biasi boilers, including the Riva Compact HE and Garda HE MK2 ranges. It monitors the pressure created by the combustion fan and signals the PCB that air is moving through the appliance correctly. If the fan stops or the flue path is restricted, the switch does not make, the PCB holds the boiler off, and unburnt gas cannot accumulate in the combustion chamber.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler locks out or fails to fire, with the fan running normally
  • Repeated ignition attempts that cut out shortly after the fan starts
  • Fault code or lockout on the PCB pointing to the air pressure switch or fan proving circuit
  • Boiler runs briefly then shuts down, or fires intermittently across calls for heat
  • Fan proving fault that returns after the flue and fan have been checked and cleared

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance GC number and model against the compatibility list, as several M96A variants use different switch settings
  • Check the existing switch against the alternative numbers 1651411 and N3974-B before ordering
  • Inspect the sensing tube and its connections at the same time, as a blocked or split tube mimics a failed switch
