What it is
The main heat exchanger (BI1182102) is a Biasi component used in Garda and Riva Compact and Riva Plus 28S and 28SR gas boilers. It transfers heat from the combustion gases to the system water, forming the primary heat transfer component of the appliance. This version is specified for appliances up to serial number N257080203.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water leaking from the heat exchanger body or its connections
- Repeated loss of system pressure requiring regular topping up
- Kettling, banging or rumbling noises during heating
- Reduced heating or hot water output
- Visible corrosion, staining or scale build-up on the exchanger
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance serial number is at or below N257080203
- Check the boiler model and GC number against the fitment list
- Verify the part number of the existing heat exchanger before ordering
- Confirm the fault lies with the heat exchanger rather than another component
