What it is

The Biasi screw fit temperature probe BI1001117 is a thermistor-type sensor used to monitor water or flow temperature inside Biasi gas boilers. It threads into the appliance on a screw fitting and reports temperature back to the printed circuit board as a changing resistance value. As the temperature around the thermistor rises, its resistance falls, and the PCB reads that change to decide whether more or less heat is needed.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler locks out or cycles repeatedly with an overheat or temperature-related fault code
  • Domestic hot water runs hot then cold instead of holding a steady temperature
  • Radiators or hot water stay cool because the boiler never reaches its target flow temperature
  • Erratic or implausible temperature readings reported by the boiler controls
  • Boiler fires briefly and shuts down before the system has warmed through

Before you order

  • Check the GC number and appliance serial plate to confirm the boiler model matches the compatibility list
  • Compare the numbers on the existing probe against BI1001117 and the alternative numbers listed below
  • Inspect the fitting and sealing face on removal, as a screw-fit probe relies on a clean, undamaged seat to seal
